About the Role

Criminal Defence Solicitor – Manchester City Centre
Excellent Benefits

We are working on behalf of highly regarded, Legal 500 and Chambers ranked, law firm to recruit a Criminal Defence or Duty Solicitor for their expanding Crime team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to launch your career in a supportive and collaborative environment, handling a varied caseload and gaining exposure to advocacy and client representation.

You will be involved in:

  • Managing a varied caseload of criminal defence matters for both private and publicly funded clients
  • Attending court hearings and representing clients at police station
  • Conducting advocacy in Magistrates Court (training and support provided)
  • Preparing clear, accurate legal advice and documentation
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties to progress cases efficiently
  • Supporting senior lawyers and contributing to team objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor with prior experience in criminal law
  • Strong understanding of Criminal Law and court procedures
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
  • IT proficiency and strong organisational skills
  • A proactive, team-focused approach
