Criminal Defence Senior Solicitor - Nottingham (with nationwide travel)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Criminal Defence Solicitor to join a highly regarded specialist criminal law team in Nottingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with substantial criminal defence experience to work on a varied caseload of privately funded criminal matters, acting for individuals and businesses facing investigation or prosecution.
The role offers exposure to complex and high-value work, with the opportunity to take ownership of matters, build strong client relationships and work alongside an experienced team of criminal lawyers.
The Role:
- Manage a varied caseload of privately funded criminal defence matters
- Advise individuals and businesses throughout all stages of criminal investigations and proceedings
- Handle complex cases involving fraud, serious sexual offences, financial crime and confiscation proceedings
- Advise clients facing investigations and prosecutions by enforcement and regulatory authorities
- Attend police stations, courts and other relevant hearings as required
- Provide clear, strategic and commercially focused advice to clients
- Undertake advocacy and represent clients throughout proceedings
- Develop case strategies and manage matters through to conclusion
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing a high level of service throughout
- Work collaboratively with colleagues on complex and sensitive matters
- Contribute to business development, networking and the continued growth of the practice
- Maintain high professional and regulatory standards

About You:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 7+ years' PQE
- Significant experience in criminal defence
- Strong experience managing complex and sensitive criminal matters
- Experience handling privately funded work would be advantageous
- Confident advocate with strong negotiation and communication skills
- Experience advising clients throughout the full criminal process
- Strong client care and relationship management skills
- Excellent understanding of criminal law, procedure and professional obligations
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a specialist team
- Commercially aware and committed to delivering excellent client service
- Willing to travel nationally where required
