Criminal Defence Solicitor – 5+ PQE Minimum
Location: Nottingham (Hybrid)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are working with a specialist legal team seeking an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor to join its growing practice.
The Role
The role offers the opportunity to handle a varied caseload of privately funded criminal matters, representing both individuals and businesses. You will manage matters from initial instruction through to resolution, with some nationwide travel required for police station and court attendance.
Your caseload may include:
- Road Traffic Offences
- Sexual Offences
- Fraud and complex fraud
- Companies House prosecutions
- Trading Standards and regulatory matters
- Health & Safety investigations
- POCA and confiscation proceedings
- Military personnel defence
- Police station and court representation

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, providing clear legal advice, preparing cases and representing clients throughout proceedings.
About You
- Ideally 7+ years' PQE with a current practising certificate but may look at slightly less
- Strong experience in Criminal Defence.
- Experience acting for privately funded clients.
- Confident attending police stations and courts.
- Strong advocacy, negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent client care and case management abilities.
- Able to work independently while contributing to a wider specialist team.
- Passionate about Criminal Defence and achieving the best outcomes for clients.
