Exciting Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Criminal Justice Team Leader who has the skills and experience to support and develop our Criminal Justice offer at CGL River. The successful candidate will manage a team of Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinators to support clients involved in the Criminal Justice System as well as working closely with partner agencies.
No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.
Where: Liverpool
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Fixed-term contract of 12 months
Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Role Responsibilities
As a Criminal Justice Team Leader, you will work as part of the service, developing pathways between Criminal Justice Agencies, both in the community and within the prison service in order to support seamless continuity of care. As the Team Leader, the post holder will be expected to work with their team to support service users subject to court orders such as ATR, DRR, IOM and prescribed clients released from custody. The Team Leader will line manage a number of Recovery Coordinators working within the Criminal Justice Team and will link in with the Opiate, Engagement and Alcohol Team Leaders to ensure that all staff work collaboratively within the teams.
Responsibilities
- Partnership Working: To work in partnership with all Criminal Justice Agencies (including police, probation, court staff and liaison and diversion partners) within the area and develop pathways and mutual ways of working to gain the best outcomes for the service users.
- Service Development: Work with partners to increase accessibility into treatment for those involved within the criminal justice system. Developing initiatives that CGL River are involved in, such as the Intensive Supervision Court Pilot.
- Leadership: To lead a team that manages criminal justice service users that are subject to a Community Sentence Treatment Requirement.
- Developing Relationships: To lead on relationships with the National Probation Service and the Judiciary to ensure an effective pathways for service users involved in the Criminal Justice System who will be managed in a community setting.
- Supporting Staff: To support staff to increase the number of successful completions, and reduce the number of representations to service and reduce the harm caused by substance use and crime. To support staff through regular supervisions and provide additional support, where needed.
- Data: To work with staff including data analyst as well as partners, to ensure data is captured and recorded appropriately, developing processes when required to ensure data is reported to external bodies such as PHE and NDTMS in accordance with requirements.

Person Specification
- Understanding: Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within Criminal Justice or related field.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of the Criminal Justice system.
- Collaboration: Experience of working with Criminal Justice partnerships.
- Supportive: Knowledge of effective interventions that lead to reduction in drug related crime.
