Criminal Regulatory Solicitor — Position Overview

  • Undertake criminal defence and professional regulatory/disciplinary work
  • Run your own caseload and progress matters with supervision
  • Advise a privately funded client base of professional individuals
  • Work collaboratively within a specialist team, reporting to Nick Brett
  • Genuine responsibility with strong opportunities to develop your own profile

Key Responsibilities of the Criminal Regulatory Solicitor

  • Handling criminal defence and professional regulatory/disciplinary matters
  • Advising clients on police investigations and defending criminal prosecutions
  • Running your own caseload and progressing matters with supervision
  • Advising professional individuals on private instructions
  • Working collaboratively with the team and reporting to Nick Brett
  • Contributing to the firm's development through marketing and business development
  • Developing your own profile both during and outside of working hours

Requirements of the Criminal Regulatory Solicitor

  • Criminal Regulatory Solicitor with 2–5 years' PQE
  • Experience of police investigations and defending criminal prosecutions
  • Excellent knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Rules
  • Experience with private instructions and a commercial understanding of private criminal practice
  • Demonstrable achievement at a leading firm or specialist boutique, with specific case examples from investigation to trial
  • A natural communicator, comfortable advising people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Excellent IT skills, including the advanced features of Microsoft Office and prior use of case management systems
