Critical Engineering Manager – Mission Critical Facilities Management
Romford, Essex | £57,900 Basic | Potential Package £68,300 + Exceptional Pension & Benefits
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Engineering Manager to join a prestigious client-side organisation, taking responsibility for engineering operations at a highly resilient, business-critical facility in Romford, Essex.
This senior Mission Critical Facilities Management position will take responsibility for the safe, compliant, and resilient operation of critical building infrastructure. The Critical Engineering Manager will lead and develop a multi-skilled engineering team, ensuring 24/7 reliability while driving maintenance standards, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.
You'll oversee planned and reactive maintenance, critical incidents, Safe Systems of Work, specialist contractors, and engineering budgets, while contributing to asset lifecycle planning, plant optimisation, and the delivery of minor works and capital replacement projects. You'll also act as a senior technical authority across critical engineering systems.

The successful Critical Engineering Manager will have a strong technical background and proven experience leading maintenance teams within Mission Critical Facilities Management environments. This is a rare opportunity to secure a senior client-side position with an outstanding overall package at a highly critical facility in Romford, Essex.
Requirements
- Minimum HNC qualification in an Engineering discipline
- Proven experience leading engineering or maintenance teams
- Strong Electrical and Mechanical building services knowledge
- Experience within mission-critical, highly resilient, or business-critical facilities
- HV/LV and/or Mechanical Authorised Person experience highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of PPM, compliance, asset management, and engineering risk
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and engineering budgets
- NEBOSH and professional engineering membership desirable

Salary & Benefits
- £57,900 basic salary
- 8% flexible benefits allowance – approximately £4,600
- Annual bonus of up to 10% – approximately £5,800
- Potential annual cash package of approximately £68,300
