The Role
This is a CRM Automations Officer position sitting within the Digital team, reporting into the Customer Engagement Manager (CRM). It's a genuinely hands-on, technical build role — the person delivers the actual automation behind the business's CRM programme, working inside Salesforce Marketing Cloud to design, build, and optimise customer journeys in Journey Builder, write personalised email campaigns using AMPscript, and manage data through SQL and Data Extensions. They own the end-to-end delivery of automation initiatives, from requirements gathering through to build, testing, and deployment, working closely with the wider CRM, Marketing, and Analytics teams to turn campaign strategy into scalable, well-governed automation solutions that run reliably at scale.
The Person
The ideal candidate is a technically strong CRM person with genuine, hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience someone who has actually built customer journeys in Journey Builder and Automation Studio, not just worked alongside a CRM platform. They'll be comfortable writing and troubleshooting SQL, developing email communications in HTML and CSS, and ideally have working knowledge of AMPscript. Beyond the platform depth, this person needs to be highly organised and able to juggle multiple automation initiatives at once, with strong attention to detail given the quality assurance and testing demands of the role. They should be a naturally collaborative communicator, comfortable translating business requirements into technical solutions for both CRM colleagues and non-technical stakeholders, and proactive about spotting ways to improve existing automations rather than just maintaining what's already there.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
