Sitting within the Customer Marketing team, you’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of personalised customer journey strategy and relevant communications. A key focus will be the timely, relevant and automated nature planning and delivery of strategic initiatives – whilst ensuring that commercial objectives are met.

Reporting to the CRM Data and Technology Manager, you’ll work cross functionally with various stakeholders and departments across the customer marketing team and wider Boots data and technology ecosystem, to deliver the best customer communications whilst driving real commercial results and transformational proof of concepts.

It’s a varied and interesting role that requires a customer focused mind-set, strong communication skills, and a desire to ensure the customer is at the heart of everything you do whilst balancing commercial and business goals.

What you’ll be doing

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for creation, ownership, delivery and optimisation of automated personalised 121 communications from BAU to new transformational projects:

Key responsibilities

  • This plan consists of any triggered communication going to a customer based on a customer event, behaviour known or predicted (Abandoned Basket, Abandoned Browse, Lapsing, Onboarding etc.)
  • For this plan to work you will need to have a strong relationship with the analytical and delivery teams to ensure the communications remain timely, relevant and work within the main customer marketing plan and objective.
  • Communications within this plan need to be reviewed with the analytics team to ensure performance remains high and any new data sources or techniques are adopted for optimisation.
  • Assign KPIs and continually optimise the customer journeys based on KPI result.
  • Work with the relevant Condor representatives to plan and schedule the migration of the existing triggers.
  • Provide strategic consultation to the wider CRM team on data and technology projects and initiatives. Example projects include:
    • Implementation of new data models into our customer marketing communications
    • Implementation of new data sources into our customer marketing database
  • Work with the analytics team to ensure reporting is fit for purpose and adopted across the wider team (Power BI)
  • Support with other transformational activities as required.
  • Review and analyse commercial and customer impact to define opportunities in your immediate area but also to improve other areas or create proof of concepts or tests for the wider customer marketing function.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

  • Have a background in marketing, ideally with experience in digital CRM customer lifecycle journeys.
  • Have a curious and analytical mind set.
  • Be solution orientated – be able to take insight and action on it, create proof of concept plans and be able to articulate your ideas to all levels and departments.
  • Have excellent relationship, organisational and communication skills. Have great articulation skills making the complex super clear through storytelling.
  • Be flexible, happy to give something a go, and contribute to lots of different work.
  • Have a desire to keep updated on what other brands are doing, and industry technologies and techniques are adopted elsewhere and see how these could be applied to Boots.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset. You must be able to put the customer at the heart of everything you do and can put yourself in the customers shoes and use data, research and results to influence your decisioning process.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of marketing automation tools.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices.
