Freelance CRM Strategist

The Job

Own the end-to-end CRM strategy for a complex B2B technology business, creating a sophisticated customer lifecycle programme designed to drive acquisition, nurture, cross-sell, upsell and retention.

  • Review and develop the existing CRM strategy, transforming current activity into scalable, automated customer journeys across multiple products and audiences.
  • Design, build and optimise automated customer journeys within Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot), with future planning for a potential migration to Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Create segmentation strategies based on customer lifecycle stage, product ownership, audience type and customer behaviour to deliver personalised communications.
  • Develop automation logic, trigger-based campaigns and lead nurturing programmes that move prospects through the funnel and encourage adoption of the wider product portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a structured A/B and multivariate testing roadmap, continuously optimising journeys, messaging, creative, timing and conversion performance.
  • Work closely with internal creative and development teams to brief CRM templates and ensure campaigns are delivered effectively across email, SMS and direct mail.
  • Connect wider brand and demand generation activity into CRM journeys, ensuring awareness channels feed into measurable nurture and pipeline activity.
  • Support the integration of outbound activity into CRM workflows, helping move teams away from static lists towards dynamic, trigger-based engagement.
  • Monitor campaign and journey performance using analytics and reporting tools, presenting recommendations and insights to senior stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
