We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Cross-Functional Design Programme Manager within Global Payments Solutions (GPS). This role will be based in London.
As a Cross-Functional Design Programme Manager, you’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of complex design and transformation programmes across payments and transaction banking. You’ll bring together Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Data and Architecture to deliver customer-centred, commercially valuable and well-controlled outcomes.
You’ll establish clear governance, create alignment across multidisciplinary teams, manage dependencies and drive timely decisions. A move across the business allows you to continue to access tailored professional development opportunities and our fantastic benefits packages. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
In this role you will:
- Own Programme scope, plans, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks and outcomes across complex cross-functional design programmes.
- Establish effective governance, decision rights, escalation routes and delivery standards aligned to business strategy, customer needs, regulation and control requirements.
- Lead delivery from discovery through implementation, bringing together business, product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, data and architecture stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, creating shared accountability across workstreams.
- Provide clear, concise and decision-ready reporting, insights and recommendations to sponsors and executive stakeholders.
- Drive timely decisions, resolve trade-offs and maintain momentum across competing priorities and dependencies.
- Simplify complex information for executive, delivery and specialist audiences, ensuring clarity of purpose and action.
- Track Programme KPIs, benefits, milestones, risks, issues, decisions and design quality, taking corrective action where required.
- Identify delivery constraints early and coordinate effective resolution across workstreams.
- Shape opportunities to use responsible AI and automation to improve programme delivery, customer outcomes and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure Programme outcomes reflect customer needs, commercial priorities, operational feasibility and the relevant risk and regulatory environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
