Cryptography Operations & Infrastructure Specialist
We are hiring for a Cryptography Operations & Infrastructure Specialist at Knutsford, UK – 3 days per week Onsite
Job Description:
We are seeking a Cryptography Operations & Infrastructure Specialist to support the day-to-day operation, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise cryptographic services. This individual will be responsible for maintaining service availability, troubleshooting complex technical issues, delivering controlled changes, and ensuring operational excellence across cryptographic infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations
- Monitor cryptographic platforms and supporting infrastructure.
- Perform routine operational activities following established service procedures.
- Execute health checks, service validations, and platform maintenance tasks.
- Maintain service availability and operational resilience.
Incident & Problem Management
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
- Coordinate with resolver groups and vendors where required.
- Manage production incidents through to resolution.
Change & Release Management
- Support implementation of approved infrastructure and security changes.
- Participate in deployment planning and execution.
- Ensure changes comply with governance and operational standards.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create and maintain operational runbooks and support documentation.
- Identify service improvement opportunities.
- Support automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute to operational readiness reviews and post-implementation assessments.
Infrastructure Support
- Support PKI, HSM, key management, and certificate management environments.
- Support application integrations with cryptographic services.
- Assist with platform upgrades and lifecycle management activities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- 5+ years within enterprise infrastructure or security operations environments.
- Experience supporting production systems in a 24x7 operational setting.
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management disciplines.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Role 1: Senior Cryptography SME
- 7-10+ years of cryptography and information security experience.
- Strong expertise in HSMs, PKI, Certificate Management, Key Management, and enterprise security architecture.
- Ability to lead technical delivery and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience within banking or regulated environments preferred.
Role 2: Cryptography Operations Specialist

5-10+ years of infrastructure or security operations experience.

Strong incident management, troubleshooting, and service improvement background.
