Overview

We are seeking a visionary and detail-oriented Color, Trim and Graphics (CTG) / CMF Designer to join our team. This role is pivotal in shaping the identity of our products and enhancing brand awareness through innovative use of materials, colors, and surface treatments. As a CTG / CMF Designer, you will lead the creative process, translating our brand's essence into tangible, emotional experiences for our customers. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and make a lasting impact in the automotive and motorcycle sectors.

Responsibilities

Design and Strategy

  • Lead the end-to-end Color, Trim and Graphics (CTG) / CMF design process for all projects, from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with Product Strategy, Industrial Design, and Brand teams to align on project vision.
  • Translate the CMF (Color, Material and Finish) strategy into creative solutions for vehicles and genuine motorcycle accessories.
  • Use design storytelling to present material design concepts and their emotional impact to stakeholders for approval.

Research and Trend Analysis

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to motorcycle display consoles and CMF.
  • Conduct advanced CMF trend research, forecast future trends, and publish reports to inspire designers and guide material exploration.
  • Translate trends into physical materials and maintain a comprehensive material library.

Execution and Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and suppliers, to ensure designs are technically feasible and align with product goals.
  • Document CTG specification sheets for production handover and coordinate with teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
  • Create 1:1 CTG build vehicles for stakeholder approval.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Automotive, Transportation, Industrial, or Graphic Design (or a related field).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a professional design studio environment working on production projects.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Expertise in graphics and applications, with exceptional visual, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong design intuition, problem-solving skills, and the ability to visually communicate through sketches and renderings.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge of mass production, manufacturing processes, and materials.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of additional visual communication tools such as Rhino, Alias, Showcase, or VRED.

Day-to-Day

  • Develop and refine CTG / CMF designs for new and existing products.
  • Conduct research to identify emerging trends and integrate them into design concepts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are both innovative and technically feasible.
  • Present design concepts and material strategies to stakeholders for feedback and approval.
  • Maintain and expand the material library to support ongoing and future projects.
