Hiring Company is raising a £400k pre-seed round (£280K raised), at a valuation of £2.67m, so 5% equity salary is the big part £133.5K equivalent. You can ask for lower equity and a higher fixed salary of £60K. Big money you'll make with equity, if you're successful.

Referral fee: up to £5000 if the CTO candidate gets hired.

Company: Promising UK Startup part of N1AI Network

Location: London / Madrid preferred - but also other countries in Europe.

Type: Full-time

About the role

  • We're looking for a hands-on CTO to take full ownership of our technology. You'll set the technical direction, build and ship the product day to day, and grow the engineering function as we scale.
  • This is a founding-level technical role for someone who wants to own the stack end to end - from AI/ML systems to the app our customers use.

What you'll do

  • Own the entire technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap
  • Build and ship across the full stack - frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data
  • Design, train, and productionize AI/ML systems at the core of the product
  • Make the hard build-vs-buy, tooling, and scaling calls - and stand behind them
  • Set engineering standards, hire the early team, and shape technical culture
  • Partner with the founders on product direction, priorities, and company strategy

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience shipping production software as a senior engineer, lead, or founder
  • Deep hands-on AI/ML experience - building, training, and deploying models in real products
  • Strong full-stack ability; comfortable across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
  • A track record of taking ownership and driving outcomes with little oversight
  • Pragmatic judgment about what to build, what to defer, and when to move fast
  • Ability to lead a small team and set the technical bar as we grow
