About Vita Panacea
Vita Panacea is a UK health technology company building Nexus, a connected medication management system for people who manage their own treatment, at home and on the move. Nexus brings together the Nexus app and the Nexus device, three connected units for storing and carrying medicines and sharps, and it is designed to consumer product standards because nobody should have to hide their medication. Nexus is a Red Dot Design Concept 2026 winner.
The Role
We need an experienced technical leader to own the technology behind Nexus, from the app and cloud to the connected units, and to take it to market as a medical device, assessed as Class I under UK MDR 2002. You will direct our development and engineering partners day to day and act as the technical counterpart to our regulatory advisers and clinical safety officer, reporting to the founder and CEO. It is a hands-on role with clear, dated deliverables, for someone who has done exactly this before.
What You Will Own
- The technical file for UKCA marking, covering the IEC 62304 software lifecycle, usability under IEC 62366-1 and ISO 14971 risk management, in a single risk file shared with our clinical safety officer.
- The architecture of the whole system, so that the Nexus app, the clinician and pharmacy software and the three connected units work together in one continuous loop.
- Hardware integration with our engineering partner, from the firmware interface to integration testing and the device test programme.
- Day-to-day direction of our software development partner, setting requirements, accepting work and signing off every release.
- Owning and developing our existing quality management system, aligned to ISO 13485, from design and change control to complaints, corrective action and post-market surveillance.
- Cyber security and data protection by design, including hosting, penetration testing and the technical input to our data protection impact assessments.
- The medicines reference data the app relies on, including its integration with NHS dm+d.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
