Description
Manage and be accountable for the provision of a high quality curriculum administrative support service for departments across the College, managing and developing all designated staff, promoting and developing services to ensure optimum administrative support is provided to curriculum departments.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
The following outlines the key duties expected of this role as directed by the Executive Director or relevant Director. It is not an exhaustive list but represents the primary responsibilities:
- Support the provision of a high quality administrative support service to curriculum departments and Faculties, establishing requirements, setting standards and driving quality improvements, promoting and implementing innovative and best practice techniques, managing staff performance and setting targets for the continued and sustained provision of a high quality administrative service. This includes undertaking the full duties of a Curriculum Administrator when required.

Ensure the effective allocation of Curriculum Administrators to maximise the available to support departments, including identifying resource requirements appropriately to provide successful deployment of staff and allocation in the event of absence, thereby providing 100% cover and co-ordination of resources.

Manage the Curriculum Administrators, across both sites, undertaking recruitment, selection, absence management, 1-1s and appraisal, taking responsibility for allocation of duties, training, managing and monitoring individual and team workloads, discipline, development, time-keeping, approval of annual leave, etc., including the cost effective use of overtime and time-off in lieu for staff, ensuring full compliance with relevant College policies and procedures at all times.

Undertake administrative support duties for complex / sensitive cases with appropriate levels of confidentiality or when required to cover staff absences, in order to maintain the optimum service provision of administrative support for departments.

Manage effective coverage for the switchboard, ensuring high levels of customer service and continuous coverage with no breakdown in service, including remote cover if necessary.

Work collaboratively with the Head of Finance to identify and implement opportunities to maximise purchasing efficiencies and deliver cost savings.
