Description
Sandwell College Group is seeking a forward-thinking Curriculum Lead to act as the principal driver for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment quality within our adult Health and Social Care provision on a fixed term basis for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year. This full time role is a unique opportunity to shape the future of technical education across multiple campuses, supporting the strategic aims of the new Health and Social Care Skills Hub by leading the integration of innovative learning technologies, including high-fidelity clinical simulation suites.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an active teaching commitment whilst acting as a pedagogical champion across multiple campuses. Provide peer coaching, share best practice, and conduct developmental learning walks to raise TLA standards
- Lead on curriculum design and the development of schemes of work, integrating Level 4+ courses to address technical skills gaps and integrating innovative learning technologies, such as clinical simulation suites
- Ensure all adult curriculum planning and delivery align meticulously with Adult Skills Fund (ASF) guidelines and WMCA strategic priorities
- Champion the Workforce and Community Development Programme by actively collaborating with local employers and industry partners to ensure the curriculum meets current and future regional demands
- Lead the Internal Verification (IV) process, liaise with external awarding bodies, and rigorously monitor learner progression, retention, and achievement
- Organise learner recruitment and induction processes, effectively coordinate with the Adult Essential Skills Department to support Maths and English, and maintain strict adherence to the College’s Safeguarding and Prevent policies

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A relevant degree and/or appropriate professional qualification in Health and Social Care, alongside a Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification
- Proven experience as an outstanding teaching practitioner in Adult Education (19+), with a strong grasp of current FE developments (e.g., Skills White Paper, ASF, and WMCA funding rules)
- Demonstrable experience in designing Level 4+ curricula and carrying out Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activities, such as standardisation and sampling
- A demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and support peers to raise teaching standards, coupled with experience maintaining quality and consistency across multiple sites
- Proven success in building effective relationships with local employers, industry partners, and diverse cross-college teams to develop strategic curriculum pathways
