What you'll bring to the team

Weekend Custodian / Cleaner

Location: The York Dungeon, York, YO1 9RD

Hours: Weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with potential for additional weekday shifts - hours 06.30 to 10.30.

Contract Type: Permanent

The York Dungeon are currently on the lookout for a Weekend Custodian / Cleaner. The Displays and Cleaning team are a vital ingredient in the guest experience and so we’re looking for someone who strives for the best and isn't afraid to get stuck in!

What you'll be doing...

  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the attraction is litter free, clean, hygienic and presentable for our guests.
  • In addition to all attraction spaces, you'll also be responsible for cleaning staff areas and toilet facilities - as well as carrying out costume laundry to keep our Dungeon Dwellers looking their best!
  • You'll also be responsible for opening up the building and turning on our Dungeon shows in readiness for our next victims arriving! Full training will be given for these activities.
  • The role will include some periodic facilities checks, and use and handling of cleaning products (for which full training will be provided).
  • You'll be responsible for ensuring any health, safety or technical issues are reported promptly to the attraction Duty Manager.

We're looking for someone who works to a high standard with great attention to detail - able to work independently and use their initiative!

  • We are looking for candidates with good, general experience of cleaning to a high standard, demonstrated through previous work experience - who are able to work without direct supervision and with great attention to detail.
  • This role will involve lone working and being the only employee on site at times, please ensure you are comfortable with this before applying.
  • Due to nature of the role and working hours, applicants must be 18 years old or over.
  • Please ensure that you are able to meet the availability requirements of this role - this is primarily a weekend working (Saturday and Sunday) role, with shift times of 06.30 to 10.30, however additional weekday shifts and flexibility may be available at times.
  • Due to the shift times involved, please ensure you have considered your travel to and from the attraction.
