Senior Counsel β Custody / Asset Servicing | BANK | London
π London (3 days per week in office) π Contract-2-Permanent π 7+ PQE
A global custody bank is looking for a Senior Counsel to join its Asset Servicing legal team in London.
The role sits at the heart of a high-profile, fast-moving practice β supporting one of the bank's largest institutional asset management relationships, as well as their wider Irish Asset Servicing business, covering Depositary and Administration.
This is a broad, senior commercial role for a qualified lawyer who can operate independently across complex, multi-jurisdictional matters β negotiating high-value contracts, advising the business day-to-day, and acting as a trusted partner to Custody, Transfer Agency, and Fund Accounting & Administration teams.

What you'll be doing
- Leading negotiation and management of a broad range of commercial contracts for a major institutional asset management client, ensuring platform integration and timely, high-quality service delivery
- Structuring and closing complex cross-border deals across Custody, Transfer Agency and Fund Accounting & Administration Services, supporting the onboarding of new clients
- Drafting and negotiating client-facing and non-client-facing agreements, including Administration Agreements, FATCA Agreements, bank account mandates and terms and conditions, Regulatory Reporting Agreements, NDAs/confidentiality agreements, letters, notices, and Intergroup and Outsourcing Agreements

What we're looking for
- 7+ years' PQE, with some asset servicing and custody experience beneficial
- Solid knowledge of the industry, with experience in (any of): UCITS and AIFMD (MiFID experience an advantage), Central Bank requirements, Fitness & Probity, AML and outsourcing
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating both client-facing and non-client-facing contracts and related documentation
- Confident advising senior stakeholders and control/support functions on regulatory and legal risk across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience managing or supervising external counsel
- Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a varied, high-volume workload
