About The Role
As Custody Engagement & Diversion Keyworker, you will:
- Work within police custody settings to identify and engage women and young adults who may benefit from support.
- Undertake cell sweeps, triage, needs assessments and risk management planning.
- Build rapport with individuals to understand their circumstances and identify appropriate support pathways.
- Support women and young adults to access One Wales community teams and wider partner services.
- Work closely with police, criminal justice partners, housing providers, social services, substance misuse services, health services and other community organisations.
- Attend voluntary appointments and multi-agency meetings where appropriate.
- Provide flexible support across the One Wales service, including community-based support and group interventions when needed.
- Maintain accurate records, referrals and monitoring information.
- Work in line with safeguarding, confidentiality, information sharing, health and safety, and Nelson Trust policies and procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
