Affordable Golf Ltd is one of the UK’s leading online and in-store golf retailers, offering a wide range of equipment and clothing from major brands such as TaylorMade, Mizuno, Callaway, Cobra, Adidas, Nike, and Titleist. Founded over 20 years ago in Scotland, the company is committed to making golf accessible to players of all levels, from beginners to professionals. Affordable Golf combines expert knowledge, ongoing training, and advanced technology such as GameChanger 2 and FlightScope launch monitors to help customers improve their game. The business provides custom fitting, club trade-in services, trolley repairs, and lessons led by PGA qualified professionals in-store. In addition to its online shop, Affordable Golf operates multiple large stores across Central Scotland, staffed by golf enthusiasts and PGA professionals who deliver friendly, knowledgeable service.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Custom Fitter role based at the Affordable Golf store in East Kilbride. The Custom Fitter will work directly with customers to assess their golfing needs, conduct club fitting sessions using launch monitors and other fitting technology, and recommend suitable equipment across a range of brands and budgets. The role involves maintaining fitting bays and equipment, supporting sales colleagues on the shop floor, and ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the fitting process. The Custom Fitter will also contribute to store merchandising, assist with trade-ins and basic equipment checks, and collaborate with PGA professionals to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Practical golf knowledge and experience, with a strong understanding of equipment types, club specifications, and how they impact performance.
  • Experience in custom fitting or a similar technical role in golf retail, coaching, or sports performance, ideally using launch monitors or comparable technology.
  • Customer service and sales skills, including the ability to build rapport with golfers of all abilities and provide clear, confident recommendations.
  • Comfort using digital tools and fitting software, with the ability to interpret data and present it to customers in an easy-to-understand way.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working as part of a store team.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in East Kilbride, with flexibility to support weekend and peak trading hours as needed.
  • Passion for golf and staying up to date with new products, technologies, and fitting practices; PGA training or certification is an advantage but not required.
  • Previous retail, sports, or customer-facing experience and a commitment to providing a welcoming, inclusive environment for all customers.
