Customer Account Manager
Chesterfield | £30,000 - £35,000 | Full Time | Permanent
Are you an experienced customer account professional with a background in manufacturing? Do you thrive on building long-term customer relationships, coordinating multiple departments and ensuring customers receive an exceptional service from enquiry through to delivery?
We're working with a well-established manufacturing business in Chesterfield to recruit a Customer Account Manager, with supply chain experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful organisation where you'll take ownership of a portfolio of key customer accounts, working closely with both customers and internal teams to ensure operational excellence and commercial success.
The Role
As Customer Account Manager, you'll be the primary contact for a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, ensuring orders are delivered successfully, customer expectations are managed and opportunities for growth are identified.
Working cross-functionally with departments including Sales, Planning, Procurement, Production, Engineering, Quality and Logistics, you'll coordinate customer requirements while balancing operational priorities to deliver the best possible outcome for both the customer and the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day relationships with a portfolio of key customer accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer queries and escalations.
- Coordinate customer orders, forecasts and delivery schedules.
- Lead regular customer review meetings and monitor service performance.
- Produce and analyse customer KPI reports, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate quotations and support commercial activities.
- Monitor customer demand and proactively manage supply risks.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
- Maintain accurate information within ERP systems and customer portals.
- Support new product introductions and customer projects where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, operational performance and account growth.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has the confidence to build strong relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders.

You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in Customer Account Management, Customer Service, Sales Support or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing customer orders, forecasts and delivery schedules.
- Good commercial awareness with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
