Customer Account Manager
Aldershot, Hampshire
£30,000–£33,500 per annum
Permanent | Full-time | Monday–Friday | Office-based
Do you enjoy building relationships with customers and being the person they know they can pick up the phone to?
We’re recruiting for a Customer Account Manager to join an established and successful business in Aldershot, looking after and developing relationships with a portfolio of existing B2B customers.
This isn’t a high-volume telesales or scripted cold-calling role. It’s about getting to know your customers, understanding their businesses and keeping in regular contact with them.
You’ll need to be someone who naturally picks up the phone, enjoys having conversations with customers and is confident building rapport and developing long-term relationships.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage and support a portfolio of existing B2B customer accounts
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Make regular proactive calls to maintain relationships and understand customer requirements
- Get to know customers’ businesses, buying patterns and product requirements
- Support customers with quotations, product information, samples and services
- Follow up customer enquiries and make sure actions are completed
- Welcome and support new customers through the onboarding process
- Re-engage customers who haven’t ordered recently
- Identify opportunities to strengthen and develop existing customer relationships
- Resolve customer queries or coordinate with the appropriate internal team
- Maintain accurate customer information, conversations and follow-up activity on the CRM system
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Production, Purchasing and Finance

About You
We’re looking for someone personable, positive and confident who genuinely enjoys speaking with customers and building relationships.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within customer service, account management, client services, customer success, account support or internal sales
- Experience looking after existing customers, clients or accounts
- A confident, friendly and natural telephone manner
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- A proactive approach to customer contact and follow-up
- The confidence to pick up the phone rather than relying solely on email
- Strong listening skills and the ability to understand customer requirements
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- A positive, engaging and commercially aware approach
- The ability to work collaboratively with different departments

Previous B2B experience would be advantageous, particularly within a product-led, distribution, manufacturing, print or similar environment, but this isn’t essential.
This position could suit someone currently working as a Customer Service Executive, Account Executive, Account Coordinator, Customer Success Executive, Client Services Executive, Internal Sales Executive or Customer Account Executive who is ready to take ownership of their own customer relationships.
