What You'll Do
The Marketplace Customer Account Manager manages and grows the net revenue from Avalara customers through up-sell, cross-sell, and add-on opportunities. You will develop long-lasting customer relationships in the evolving world of tax and VAT compliance. You excel at work creating value for the client, and have account management and sales skills. You will report to the Director of Marketplace Sales.
(commutable to London or Brighton offices)
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Responsible for customer retention throughout the renewal sales cycle
- Provide forecasts to direct manager and track customer and partner interactions, using Salesforce
- Articulate and present the value delivered by Avalara products and services to multiple levels within an organization to ensure renewal
- Understand a client's business environment and uncover areas of growth or new opportunities to explore
- Partner with our teams including: engineering, product, finance, and global customer support team to promote client retention and satisfaction
- Use the broader internal team to address client satisfaction issues
- Create and document playbook, dashboards and models ensuring repeatable processes and scale
- Be the subject matter expert and product knowledge expert to provide valuable relevant recommendations to clients
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- Minimum 8 years of individual quota-carrying sales experience
- Experience in the ecommerce/marketplace space; related tax compliance issues ideal
- Can navigate business processing and industry trends
- Experience developing strategic relations at the senior level
- We require working with or for a marketplace along with an understanding of logistics and carrier operations
- 5+ years of experience negotiating contracts or facilitating resolution to customer problems
- Experience achieving performance goals including quotas, revenue targets or other measurements
