Who we are
Certsure is the organisation behind NICEIC, the UK’s largest certification body for electrical businesses. For 70 years, NICEIC has helped raise standards across the electrical industry, and today more than 40,000 businesses carry our certification.
Our work supports technical competence, safety and trust. We also provide training, technical guidance, publications and other services that help businesses and professionals develop and respond to changes across the industry.
We are now developing the next chapter for Certsure. Our new three-year strategy and Target Operating Model are creating a stronger focus on our customers, how we grow and where we invest. We have a strong platform to build from, alongside opportunities to make better use of our market position, develop what we offer and strengthen the value customers receive from us.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the role
The Customer and Commercial Director will join our senior leadership team and help turn those ambitions into sustainable growth.
You will shape how we understand our customers and markets, using that insight to develop propositions, inform pricing and investment decisions, and identify opportunities for growth. You will have responsibility for revenue growth across customer-facing products and services, including training, publications, events and value-added services.
There is significant scope to develop our commercial capability. We want to become more deliberate in how we approach customer acquisition and retention, develop our pipeline and use data to understand performance. You will bring together customer, commercial, marketing and market thinking so that we make better decisions about where to focus our energy and investment.
You will work closely with colleagues across technical, operations, assurance, training, technology and transformation. That collaboration matters. Commercial growth at NICEIC needs to sit comfortably alongside the technical integrity and trust on which our reputation has been built.
What we are looking for

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You will bring senior leadership experience from a commercial, customer or revenue-led environment, with evidence of delivering growth and developing commercial capability.
We are interested in experience gained across different sectors. You might have worked in a commercial business, professional or membership organisation, certification or regulated environment, or another organisation with products and services that customers actively choose to buy.
You will understand the disciplines behind sustainable growth, including propositions, pricing, pipeline, customer insight and market development. You will also be comfortable using evidence and financial information to make decisions about investment and return.
Just as importantly, we want someone who works collaboratively, shares expertise and creates space for constructive challenge. You will contribute beyond your own directorate, helping us build a stronger senior leadership team and develop the capability we need across Certsure.
If you are interested in using your commercial experience to help an established and trusted organisation grow its value to customers and the wider industry, we would be pleased to hear from you.
