Customer Business Lead

FMCG - Non - Food
📍 Hybrid – 2 days connected - Berkshire
C.£105,000 + car + bonus + package

The opportunity:

This is a high-profile commercial leadership opportunity with responsibility for one of the business's most strategically important retail customers.

Reporting to the Sales Director – Retail, you will lead the customer strategy across the UK, driving profitable growth, strengthening customer partnerships and delivering the commercial agenda across a complex retail environment.

What will my key accountabilities be?

  • Own the overall commercial relationship with a major UK retail customer, acting as the senior point of contact.
  • Develop and deliver the annual customer business plan and commercial strategy.
  • Use customer, category and market insight to shape the joint business agenda.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing customer team.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure excellent execution against customer plans.
  • Own customer P&L performance, commercial investment and forecasting.

A great candidate will have:

We are looking for an experienced commercial leader who combines strong customer management skills with genuine strategic and commercial thinking.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience managing major UK retail customers within FMCG, consumer goods or a related environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering profitable customer and category growth.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience building senior-level customer relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capability, with the ability to turn insight into action.
  • The confidence to operate within a complex, matrix organisation and influence across functions.
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial and solutions-focused mindset.
  • The ability to combine strategic thinking with strong commercial execution.
