Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres of milk, drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties.
Applications are invited for the above position at our Newtownards site.
The Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing an effective and high-quality support to customers in the areas of all incoming call handling, order taking stock reservation, stock management, and customer complaint handling. This role will also ensure that all appropriate financial transactions in relation to sales and credits are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
Key responsibilities will include (Not limited too):
- Proactively build effective relationships with customers which encourage and support a long-term business relationship.
- Contribute to achievement of the ‘overall company OTIF’ of 95% on a weekly basis (measured by a percentage of ‘orders’ delivered successfully and in full).
- Review reporting information to ensure that Customer Care achieves their OTIF of 99.5% on a weekly basis. Review own order entry errors and customer errors regularly to improve OTIF.
- Develop successful working relationships and communicate daily with account managers regarding any account queries, sales leads, deliveries, pricing, and potential problems with customers.
- Receive and field all incoming calls, emails, sales orders, and delivery queries from customers.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the new ERP system (SAP) as required, including taking part in relevant training activities and preparation of data.
- Enter and release sales orders onto the ERP system (via phone, fax, email, EDI), reserve stock against these orders, while ensuring any changes/shortages are both updated on the ERP system and recorded as discrepancies/complaints.
- Update customers with regard to shortages, changes to orders, frustrated stock, and delivery times.

The Person
Our team are seeking an individual who is educated to GCSE Level (to include Math’s & English Grade C or above) or equivalent and who has previous experience within a busy, time-pressured, Customer Supply environment, as well as previous experience of an ERP/CRM/Sales Ordering system.
The successful applicant will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as evident experience interacting with customers/contractors by telephone. An ability to quickly pick up IT systems is essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). The successful candidate will be proactive, professional, and be able to deal with pressure to respond to customer demands while ensuring the customer remains their top priority.

While not essential, experience gained within a food manufacturing environment, and experience of working with stock rotation would be desirable.
