About the Company
Our client is a large UK mobility services organisation seeking an Account Manager to drive sales growth, retention and account development across a mixed portfolio of dealer partners.
About the Role
The role has a strong commercial focus, with responsibility for identifying growth opportunities, improving account performance and building productive relationships with higher-potential and developing dealers. The successful candidate will use data, insight and CRM tools to prioritise activity, understand buying behaviour and convert opportunities into measurable results. Working closely with relationship management, growth and development colleagues, the Account Manager will lead day-to-day commercial conversations, support underperforming or inactive accounts and take clear ownership of portfolio performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies across a portfolio of large, mid-tier and developing dealer accounts.
- Prioritise higher-value and higher-potential accounts to maximise sales, retention and growth.
- Tailor engagement strategies according to customer segment, performance and commercial opportunity.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers, taking strategic direction on priority accounts while leading day-to-day commercial discussions.
- Collaborate with growth and development colleagues to improve the performance of new, reactivated or non-buying accounts.
- Use data and insight to understand why accounts are not purchasing, identify opportunities and focus activity where it will deliver the greatest return.
- Maintain a structured programme of dealer engagement through daily and weekly calls and quarterly Microsoft Teams meetings with priority accounts.
- Support face-to-face dealer meetings where required, aligned with regional priorities and higher-impact commercial opportunities.
- Plan, document and follow up all dealer interactions within the CRM system, recording clear actions and outcomes.
- Review portfolio activity regularly, including purchasing behaviour, pipeline opportunities, vehicle readiness and claims trends.
- Lead confident commercial conversations designed to influence dealer behaviour and improve performance.
- Structure working time to protect outbound sales activity and maximise growth opportunities.
- Balance portfolio engagement, follow-up activity, meetings and opportunity management through disciplined prioritisation.
- Use Salesforce as a core sales tool to maintain accurate records of contacts, decision-makers, activities and opportunities.
- Use CRM data and automated triggers to identify and engage inactive or lapsed buyers.
- Maintain high standards of CRM data quality to support forecasting, performance management and team productivity.
- Deliver against agreed KPIs covering sales growth, dealer engagement, retention, reactivation, productivity and quality.
- Use dashboards and performance data to monitor results and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Participate in regular performance discussions, coaching and development activities.
- Manage claims-related conversations within the assigned portfolio where required.
- Work collaboratively with claims colleagues to understand claim outcomes, evidence requirements and condition standards.
- Resolve dealer issues within established governance, processes and escalation routes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
