Customer Development Specialist

My client is a thriving, well-established furniture business supplying schools, nurseries, early years settings, and offices right across the UK. They have grown to £12 million turnover and is expanding by around 20% every single year, but they have kept their team small and tight-knit at just 23 people. That means when you win, everyone knows about it, and your work actually matters.
They are now looking for a Customer Development Specialist to join and help drive that growth even further.
Details:
- £30,000–£35,000 basic plus a £2,500 annual bonus
- Location: Burntwood, Staffordshire
- Office based role - 5 days a week - Monday - Friday

The role
This is warm, consultative phone sales, not cold calling. Every lead is an existing customer who's already bought from the website, so your job is to build the relationship, spot the next opportunity, and grow the account.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Managing a busy portfolio of existing customers, prioritizing your time to get the best results
- Calling recent buyers to explore upsell, cross-sell, and product-awareness opportunities
- Running friendly, consultative conversations with managers and decision-makers, understanding what they need, and matching it to the right solution
- Handling pricing, VAT, and margin calculations, and keeping your records sharp on their CRM
- Reviving dormant accounts and deepening relationships with the customers you look after

Requirements
- At least 1 year of phone-based sales or customer development experience
- A confident, warm phone manner and a natural relationship-builder
- Comfortable with basic numeracy and Excel (They will train you on their systems)
- A full driving licence and your own vehicle, public transport links to their site are limited
