About the Team: Energy, Transition & Environment
Our Energy Transition & Environment business unit is leading the clean energy revolution. We’re accelerating the transition to net-zero emissions and helping utility companies embrace efficiency-driven solutions.
Through responsible and intelligent AI deployment, we collaborate with clients—from major energy operators to GreenTech startups and national infrastructure providers—to build solutions that deliver tangible impact and a sustainable future.
Role: Customer Director (Energy Transition & Environment)
As a Customer Director at Faculty, you’ll lead ambitious commercial growth for our Energy Transition & Environment accounts. This role blends strategic consulting, AI-focused solutions, and high-impact relationship management to transform the energy sector.
You’ll spearhead sophisticated AI programs, manage multi-million-pound projects, and foster long-term client partnerships—driving operational excellence in an industry undergoing profound change.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Scaling revenue growth: Driving high-value sales and implementing strategic plans to hit multi-million-pound targets across your account portfolio.
- Building lasting client relationships: Nurturing deep, trusting engagements with senior stakeholders to ensure high satisfaction and long-term retention.
- Leading cross-functional delivery teams: Overseeing commercial and technical teams to execute high-impact AI programs with precision and excellence.
- Mentoring high potential talent: Coaching team members to accelerate both personal development and project success.
- Innovating client solutions: Proactively identifying forward-thinking, data-driven use-cases that address unique client challenges with ongoing value.
- Senior commercial negotiations: Navigating complex deals, pricing, and contractual agreements for new and existing accounts.
- Enhancing thought leadership: Representing Faculty at industry events to strengthen reputation and expand our market influence.

Requirements
We’re looking for someone with:
- A comprehensive consulting background (typically from mid-to-large consultancies) and proven client management expertise.
- A nuanced understanding of the energy value chain, including direct or consultancy experience with:
- utilities, energy suppliers, traders, policymakers, or regulators
- roles spanning strategy, operations, transformation, or commercial leadership.
- A natural business development mindset, thriving in high-growth, dynamic, and ambiguous environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management: Ability to lead large-scale client journeys, align with executive sponsors, and exceed expectations.
- Technical curiosity: Comfort collaborating with AI-focused teams and a passion to master and articulate AI applications.
- Natured negotiator: Expertise in handling complex commercial processes—from proposal to final deal closure.
- Analytical problem solver: Proven ability to simplify technical concepts and deliver clear business value.
- Entrepreneurial flair – the drive to shape progressive solutions and deliver outsized impact.
