SUMMARY

Responsible for start ups, maintenance, and emergency repairs for UPS, battery, power distribution, and site monitoring equipment. Required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, salesmen, distributors, and others within the area. Maintain continuous communications with Call Control and the department Manager/Supervisor.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Undertake standard service activity’s including load bank & building load test proving, major & minor diesel servicing.
  • Carry out contract maintenance and inspection on a planned basis to Vertiv standards.
  • Fault finding and rectification in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.
  • Installation of temporary generating plant.
  • Commissioning of generator installations.
  • Identify opportunities for extra works (SQD) & recommendations.
  • Remedial work to contract customers either planned repairs or as part of a call out facility.
  • Be included on call out rota for 24h response.
  • Completion and submission of relevant reports to service administration within a timely manner following all site activity.
  • Comply with all Company Health and Safety Requirements.
  • Ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of the International Trade Compliance Regulation is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company ITC certification program itself.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experiences within the generator stand by power or related industry.
  • National Level 3 qualification in either an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Experience of Electrical and Mechanical fault finding & rectification.
  • A good understanding of PLC and microprocessor systems.
  • A good understanding of IT.
  • Experience in servicing LV switchgear would be advantageous.
  • Experience in a field operations role.
  • Experience of fault finding & rectification.
  • Clean Valid driving licence

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • A significant amount of after hours and weekend work, frequently scheduled with little notice
  • Travel on a daily basis to and from customer sites
  • Will be required to stay away from home or travel long distances.
  • Occasional heavy lifting required (30 kg.)
  • You will be expected to operate as part of a team
  • Participate on the 24/7 on call rota/tech call out rota
  • May be required to travel abroad from time to time.
  • You will be supplied with a Company uniform, which must be worn at all times while working.
