As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials
You serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include:

- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
- Coordinating and communicating directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.

Applied Materials UK Limited are currently looking to hire a Field Service Engineer to work on some of our most advanced semiconductor equipment. This is a permanent role and is based out of our customer site in Derry / Londonderry, Northern Ireland and you will work in a 12/7 shift environment supporting critical customer operations.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Using your expertise to conduct quality repairs on Applied Materials semiconductor equipment.
- Communicating any equipment issues with other engineers, communicating with suppliers in advance of troubleshooting, and participating in escalation conference calls.
- Verifying operational quality of system equipment. Tracking uptime and parts failure frequency.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical problems. Using training and experience to identify process, software or hardware related system problems.
- Assume responsibility for complete customer satisfaction within work area. Assisting in planning, communicating, and coordinating support plans with customer management.
- Complying with all safety procedures and consistently demonstrating safety as a value.

What We Require From You:
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering or relevant field of study.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience, is desirable.
- Team player as well as being able to take full ownership and work independently.
- Problem Solving - Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations; analyse possible solutions using technical experience and judgement and precedents.
- Interpersonal Skills - Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
- Passion about technology.
