Customer Experience Consultant Ocean 4PL

The Role:

The Ocean 4PL Customer experience consultant serves as the central coordinator for inbound ocean freight operations, managing the end-to-end movement of cargo from suppliers to final delivery locations. Acting as a control tower and single point of contact, this role oversees logistics providers, ensures shipment visibility, drives operational excellence, supports compliance requirements, and delivers cost-efficient transportation solutions while maintaining high service levels.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage inbound ocean freight operations from purchase order planning through final delivery.
  • Coordinate shipment planning, booking activities, and container utilization optimization.
  • Oversee relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
  • Monitor shipment milestones and proactively manage delays and exceptions.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy, trade compliance, and customs readiness.
  • Coordinate destination handling, inland transportation, and delivery scheduling.
  • Track freight costs, validate invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare KPI reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Who we are looking for:

Someone with:

  • Experience in ocean freight, logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding operations.
  • Knowledge of ocean transportation, customs procedures, Incoterms, and shipping documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience monitoring KPIs and logistics performance.
  • Ability to resolve operational issues and manage exceptions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with TMS, ERP systems, and visibility platforms.
  • Continuous improvement and customer-focused approach.
  • Data driven & cost-efficient mindset, being able to understand complex scenarios and drive desired outcomes.
  • Business oriented approach, understanding the impact of your decisions on our customers.
  • Fluency in English, both written & spoken.
