Job Introduction

Are you ready to shape the future of customer experience on one of the UK’s largest and most visible railway networks?

We’re seeking a Customer Experience Director to lead our customer strategy and operational delivery, based at our head office in London Bridge.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of customer experience on one of the UK's largest and most visible railway networks. Southeastern serves 181 stations across London, Kent and East Sussex, operating more than 1,700 services every day and connecting millions of customers with work, education, leisure and communities.

With Great British Railways only a year away, Southeastern is already ahead of the curve. Through its integrated partnership with Network Rail Kent, we are demonstrating what a more joined-up railway can deliver for customers, colleagues and communities.

Can you move people? Apply now.

What You’ll Do

As Customer Experience Director, you will lead the strategy, culture and operational delivery that defines how customers experience our railway. From stations and frontline service to accessibility, disruption management, and customer information, you will influence every touchpoint of the journey. The scale of the opportunity is significant: shaping experience across a network carrying around over 140 million customer journeys annually, while helping create a blueprint for the future integrated railway.

As the face of customer experience at Southeastern, you will lead from the front. You will spend time with customers and frontline colleagues across the network, working closely with stakeholders and partners, while also contributing at executive and board level to shape the future of the business. Your ability to move seamlessly between the station platform and the boardroom will be key to your success.

The South Eastern Railway is the first in a new era of integrated railways under public ownership. We are ambitious and determined to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
