The Role
Are you an organised and customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same?
At GAP Hire Solutions, we're looking for a proactive Customer Hire Controller to join our busy and growing team supporting the Kier account. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating hire requirements, has a strong eye for detail, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
In this role, you'll be at the centre of the hire operation, managing customer enquiries and requests while ensuring efficient, accurate administration.
What You'll Be Doing
- Process customer on- and off-hire requests accurately and efficiently in line with company procedures.
- Raise purchase orders and hire contracts using internal systems, liaising with suppliers and customer sites to arrange the supply of plant and equipment.
- Monitor deliveries, resolve issues, and escalate where necessary.
- Ensure that all supplier paperwork relating to hires is accurate and complete.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, customer sites, and internal teams.
- Manage multiple priorities and work within agreed deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment.

About You
What We're Looking for
- Previous experience in a Hire Desk, Plant Hire, Customer Service, or Administration role is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
- The ability to prioritise your workload, work independently, and contribute as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, with the ability to learn and use internal systems proficiently.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to work.
- Plant hire or construction industry knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
- A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
