We are exclusively recruiting for a friendly and growing business in Harrogate who are looking for a personable and proactive Customer Host to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within hospitality, retail, hotels, leisure or another customer-facing environment who would like to move into an office-based, Monday–Friday position while continuing to use their people and customer service skills.
Previous office experience isn’t essential. We’re looking for someone who is naturally warm, organised and helpful, takes pride in creating a welcoming environment and is happy to get stuck into all aspects of the role.
There are also excellent opportunities to learn, develop and progress within the business, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a longer-term career.
The Role
As Customer Host, you’ll play an important part in ensuring customers and visitors receive an excellent experience from the moment they arrive.
This is a varied and hands-on position combining customer service, hospitality, cleaning and general workplace upkeep.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers and visitors and providing friendly, professional support
- Building positive relationships and being a visible and approachable presence
- Maintaining communal areas throughout the day, including reception areas, kitchens, bathrooms, meeting rooms and refreshment areas
- Carrying out regular cleaning and presentation checks to ensure consistently high standards
- Restocking kitchens, bathrooms and refreshment areas
- Preparing fresh coffee and maintaining clean and fully stocked tea and coffee stations
- Supporting with catering and the set-up and clear-down of meeting and event spaces
- Receiving and distributing post and deliveries
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering everyday supplies
- Completing straightforward daily health & safety and compliance checks, with full training provided
- Reporting maintenance issues and helping to coordinate their resolution
- Looking after plants and helping to maintain an attractive, welcoming environment
- Supporting the wider team with general day-to-day operational tasks

About You
Previous experience within hospitality, retail, hotels, leisure or customer service would be ideal; however, personality, attitude and a genuine passion for providing excellent service are equally important.
You’ll be someone who is:
- Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with a wide range of people
- Naturally helpful with a strong customer-service approach
- Happy to undertake cleaning and general upkeep as an important part of the position
- Proactive and able to spot what needs doing without always being asked
- Organised and comfortable managing a varied workload
- Particular about cleanliness, presentation and maintaining high standards
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in
- Keen to learn, develop and progress within a growing business

Location: Harrogate
Salary: National Minimum Wage, dependent on age
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
