Job Description
Your Impact
Leonardo is seeking an experienced customer-facing engineer to join the Integrated Sensing & Protection (ISP) Line of Business, supporting Leonardo's Precision Guidance portfolio, including SAL Seeker and Compact Seeker products.
Working as part of Leonardo's customer support and engineering community, you will provide specialist technical support to domestic and international customers throughout the integration, verification, validation, qualification, and operational deployment of Precision Guidance systems.
This is a highly customer-facing engineering role requiring close collaboration with platform integrators, weapon system manufacturers, and Leonardo engineering teams. The primary objective is to ensure customers achieve maximum value from integration and test activities while enabling the successful fielding and operation of Leonardo Precision Guidance products.
The role demands strong technical competence, systems thinking, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You will frequently act as the technical bridge between customers and Leonardo's Precision Guidance development teams, helping to resolve integration challenges, support complex trials, and identify opportunities for product improvement.
Regular UK and international travel will be required to support customer integration activities, trials, demonstrations, and in-service support.

- Supporting customers in developing integration strategies and verification approaches.
- Assisting with the planning, execution, and optimization of laboratory, rig, ground, and platform-based testing.

Trials, Demonstrations, and Operational Support
- Supporting customer trials, weapon integration activities, and capability demonstrations.
- Providing on-site technical expertise during domestic and international trial campaigns.
- Supporting the transition of Precision Guidance products from development into operational service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
