The Customer Journey and Process Management (CJPM) team plays a key role in helping BMW Financial Services deliver great customer outcomes and efficient business processes. We partner with operational departments to govern and improve processes, enhance customer journeys, and identify opportunities to automate and optimise activities through Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience across customer journey management, process governance, continuous improvement, data analytics, process automation, and AI initiatives while working with stakeholders across the business.

What awaits you?

Customer Journeys, Process Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the monitoring and governance of customer journeys and business processes.
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings to gather information, understand process challenges, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Verify process documentation through quality assurance reviews to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and up to date.
  • Support the maintenance of process documentation and process repositories.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly process governance and performance reporting, including BMW Process World reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement reviews using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Assist with process mapping activities to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Analyse operational and customer data to identify trends and support improvement recommendations.
  • Support workshops, surveys, coaching activities, and other initiatives that promote a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

Automation, Robotics & AI

  • Support the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of automation opportunities across operational departments.
  • Conduct analysis to support the Robotics Process Automation (RPA) backlog and pipeline.
  • Assist with initial automation assessments and business case development.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand manual processes and evaluate their suitability for automation.
  • Support the delivery and monitoring of automation initiatives designed to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Assist with data-driven initiatives that support the exploration and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies.

What should you bring along?

  • Is studying towards, or has recently completed, a degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in using data to drive business improvements.
  • Is comfortable working with data, identifying trends, and producing meaningful insights and reports.
  • Has an interest in process improvement, automation technologies, AI, and digital transformation.
  • Possesses strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Is organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrates curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to challenge existing ways of working.
  • Has experience with data analysis tools (such as Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, or similar) or a desire to develop these skills.
