ABOUT COMPASS BOX WHISKY
Compass Box is the most-awarded independent whiskymaker in the world. Since 2000, the company has built a global reputation for creativity, transparency, and award-winning flavour-first Scotch whiskymaking. Drawing from an exceptional range of aged whiskies from over 40 distilleries across Scotland, Compass Box creates a range of Scotch super blends, with flavours no single distillery can deliver on its own. No artificial colouring, no chill-filtration, no shortcuts, just more flavour.
YOUR MISSION
Compass Box is on an exciting global scaling journey, built on 25 years of heritage and an award-winning range of Scotch whisky recognised the world over. This is a pivotal, newly created role to build a scalable engine of premium B2B and B2B2C storytelling, working directly with our CMO, CEO, and commercial leaders to help take our brand across North America, APAC, and Europe with the quality, agility, and customer-centricity it deserves.
YOUR ROLE AS CUSTOMER MARKETING MANAGER
You own the end-to-end quality, consistency, and impact of our B2B and B2B2C marketing outputs, and continuously raise the bar. Turn tailored pitch and sell-in materials, trade activation ideas, and shopper marketing concepts into scalable, beautifully crafted, commercially compelling storytelling for our distribution partners, retailers, and on-premise customers worldwide.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO
- Create sell-in materials. Build the tailored pitch decks and annual plan presentations our commercial leaders, CMO, and CEO take into meetings with distributors and key accounts in each priority market.
- Write the commercial story. Turn our brand and product truths into category strategy documents and commercial narratives that show a buyer why Compass Box grows their premium Scotch category.
- Shape activation concepts. Develop shopper marketing toolkits and articulate the retail and on-premise activation vision within customer materials. Local market teams and agencies deliver activation in-market; you make it compelling on the page.
- Build the reusable engine. Build a library of reusable templates, modular assets, playbooks, and standards so materials for a new market or customer are tailored in days, not built from scratch. This is how one person serves five markets.
- Set and champion the quality bar. Own visual and verbal consistency across every B2B and B2B2C touchpoint, in lockstep with the wider brand identity system.
- Work AI-natively. Use generative tools for mock-ups, visuals, and copy iteration to move fast, with the judgement to know when output meets the Compass Box standard and when it does not.
- Partner across the business. You'll work in lockstep with Commercial teams globally, directly with the CMO and CEO on major partner engagements, and closely with in-market marketing resources, agencies, and the Whiskymaking team for product detail and sensory input.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience. 5-8 years in Customer, Trade, Partner, Channel, or Commercial Marketing at a premium consumer brand. Premium spirits or wine strongly preferred; exceptional candidates from adjacent premium categories considered.

Character. Humble, hungry, collaborative, resilient. These character traits are the primary filter we look for in colleagues.
Capabilities. Storytelling craft, visual and aesthetic judgement, fluency in how distributors and key accounts think and buy, obsessive attention to detail, and systems thinking that favours frameworks over one-offs.
