Job Description
As a Customer Quality Specialist at our Rotating Machines Rugby (RMR) site, you will act as the primary interface between our manufacturing operations and our external clients. You will own the end-to-end customer quality process, leading the investigation and resolution of quality concerns to ensure our responses are rigorous and transparent. By translating site-level quality data into actionable insights for leadership, you will play a vital role in upholding our standards of safety, reliability, and performance. You will join a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement, where the emphasis is on proactive prevention and evidence-led corrective action.
We are looking for an early-career professional who is eager to apply their foundational knowledge in this high complex engineering environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Own projects: Develop and execute quality plans that ensure deliverables meet regulatory, industry, and contractual standards, identifying and mitigating risks before they reach the customer.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead RCA investigations on critical issues and drive preventative actions (CAPAs) to closure and present findings to customers.
- Customer Liaison: Act as the central point of contact for customer quality complaints and queries, producing formal reports and progress updates that reflect our commitment to excellence using structured techniques—such as 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, and Pareto Analysis—and apply data-driven evidence to validate your findings.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Monitor quality performance metrics to identify emerging trends, presenting your findings to site leadership to drive proactive process adjustments.
- Collaborative Improvement: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, projects, and legal teams to ensure programme requirements are met.
- Team meetings: Facilitate cross-functional meetings to implement corrective and preventive actions, ensuring that all findings are documented and integrated into our quality management systems.
- Drive a quality culture: Develop and deliver training on quality assurance practices, mentor colleagues on quality-related topics, and embed a continuous improvement mindset across the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
