You will be part of a diverse team, where you celebrate and support each other’s successes. This challenging and rewarding role is part of our Commercial insurance team based in York or Colchester.
What you will be doing
- Selling business insurance to SME customers by having great conversations to understand their needs and requirements. This is a sales and service role, and you will be expected to identify suitable solutions and convert appropriate opportunities.
- Identifying appropriate opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell across our commercial product range, based on each customer's needs.
- Speaking to new and existing customers and resolving their queries across predominantly inbound telephone activity, scheduled outbound call-backs, email and webchat.
- Working towards individual targets and taking accountability for achieving them. Your performance measures will balance sales, quality and customer satisfaction, while requiring you to manage your time effectively.
- Becoming an expert in our technical insurance products and IT systems, enabling you to explain information clearly and help customers make informed decisions.
- Participating in weekly team meetings and huddles to discuss problem solving, as well as reviewing your individual and team performance.
- Working with other teams across the contact centre to provide good outcomes for our customers and Hiscox.

Our trainers will spend 5 weeks helping you build your knowledge of our products and systems. The training is varied and includes online and self-learning. After training, you will move into an Academy to further strengthen your skills for another 4 weeks.

You enjoy speaking to people, building rapport and providing a great customer experience, while being comfortable identifying and discussing sales opportunities.
You are driven, highly productive and a team player, who is receptive to feedback and always striving to improve.
You are resilient and don’t shy away from problems or challenges.
You are motivated by working towards and surpassing business goals, and understand the importance of balancing sales outcomes with quality customer service.
Sales experience is desirable. Previous experience of working towards targets, whether gained in sales, retail, hospitality or another customer-focused environment, would also be valuable.
Salary: £25,000 with potential of an annual performance bonus
This role is 35 hours per week, 9-5pm, Monday to Friday
