Customer Service & Acquisitions Lead - Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd (Amphora Connect)
Colchester, Essex
Full-Time, Temporary
3 Month Contract, 37 hours per week
£15.00-£18.00 PAYE / £19.23-£23.08 Umbrella per hour

Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Colchester Amphora in recruiting a Customer Service & Acquisition Lead on an initial 3-month contract.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site a minimum of 4 days per week.

Amphora Connect is looking for a proactive and customer-focused Customer Service & Acquisitions Lead to play a key role in supporting our fibre broadband business. This is an exciting opportunity to combine customer service excellence, sales lead generation, account management, and business support within a growing digital connectivity operation.
About the Role
Working closely with the Amphora Connect team, Digital Marketing Lead and Finance Manager, you will be responsible for attracting new customers, supporting existing users, and helping Amphora Connect achieve its ambitious growth targets.
You will manage customer enquiries, convert leads into paying customers, oversee customer onboarding processes, support billing and credit control activities, and contribute to service performance reporting and business improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition & Business Growth
- Identify and generate new customer leads through research, networking, events, referrals, and digital channels.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
- Engage with potential customers to understand their requirements and present suitable connectivity solutions.
- Convert qualified leads into paying customers.
- Work collaboratively with the Amphora Connect team to achieve customer growth targets.

Customer Service & Account Management
- Deliver a professional and responsive customer experience.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and service issues effectively.
- Contact customers ahead of contract renewals and discuss available contract options.
- Build strong relationships with customers and act as a trusted point of contact.
Customer Administration & Finance Support
- Set up new customer accounts and raise invoices as required.
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate records.
- Reconcile payments received through Stripe, GoCardless, and bank transfers.
- Support credit control activities and help minimise overdue debt.
- Manage customer departures and coordinate the return of equipment where necessary.
Reporting & Business Improvement
- Collate performance information and prepare regular reports and dashboards.
- Monitor customer acquisition and service performance metrics.
- Analyse customer service and acquisition data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development of customer service and acquisition systems and processes.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
- Coordinate meetings and forward scheduling activities for the Amphora Connect business.
About You
We are looking for an organised, motivated individual who enjoys working with customers and has a strong eye for detail.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in a customer service, customer success, sales support, account management, or business development environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand customer needs and identify appropriate solutions.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
- Experience working with data and spreadsheets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- A proactive, resourceful, and collaborative approach.

Desirable
- Experience within telecommunications, broadband, digital technology, utilities, or similar sectors.
- Knowledge of customer onboarding, invoicing, and payment systems.
- Experience producing performance reports and analysing customer data.
- Understanding of business systems and process improvement.
