About The Role
As a Customer Service Administrator in Sunderland, you will join Pertemps Newcastle’s partnership with Northern Powergrid, supporting the team from September. This full-time, temporary contract offers £13.48 to £13.52 per hour.
Initially, your focus is administrative, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, for the first three months. Following this period, responsibilities broaden to include direct customer contact, handling enquiries with a professional, customer-first approach. You will ensure every interaction reflects a quality service, contributing to consistently positive experiences for their 8 million customers. Strong organisational abilities and clear communication are essential for this role, which offers a structured pathway into wider customer service duties.

We’re looking for people with a Customer First mind-set to provide a professional, quality service to customers as they strive to continually deliver a consistent 10 out of 10 experience for all of their customers.
Role Details
The role will start out as an Administrative position for the first 3 months (Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm) then will lead into a Contact Centre role in the new year (Full training given) working on a 4 week shift pattern within the hours of 6am - 10pm (5 out of 7 days)
Based in Sunderland Full training provided Shifts run between 6am -10pm 37 hours a week covering any 5 out of 7 days a week Overtime available Free parking on site
Duties
- You will support customers with a variety of queries while delivering an exceptional level of service.
- Accurately input and update customer data within internal systems.
- Maintain records and ensure all information is up to date.
- Support general administrative tasks across the team.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience in line with the company’s Quality Framework.
- Act as the first point of contact via telephone, email, SMS, and social media.
- Take ownership of enquiries and complaints, using initiative to find effective solutions.
- Update internal systems accurately to ensure smooth customer journeys.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to provide a seamless service.

Essential Skills
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good Administrative skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Confident in handling a wide range of contacts, with a focus on delivering a high standard of customer experience.
- Good IT literacy, in particular a good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages.
- Excellent organisational skills.
