Do you thrive on helping people and finding solutions? Are you someone who can stay calm under pressure, build rapport quickly, and turn challenging conversations into positive outcomes?
If you're looking for a role where every day brings something different and where your work genuinely makes a difference to people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
At North Devon Homes, we're passionate about providing safe, affordable homes and excellent services for our customers. As a registered charity and housing association, we manage more than 3,300 homes across North Devon and provide housing and support to over 10,000 customers.
We're looking for a Customer Service Adviser to join our busy and supportive team.
About The Role
As the first point of contact for our customers, you'll play a vital role in delivering a positive customer experience, whether that's over the phone, by email or face to face. From repair enquiries and rent accounts to anti-social behaviour concerns and wider housing-related matters, you'll be helping customers navigate a wide range of situations, often at times when they need support the most.
This is a rewarding role, but it's also one that requires resilience. Often customers you speak to may be frustrated, upset or facing difficult circumstances. You'll be able to remain calm, professional and empathetic, listening carefully to understand their concerns and asking insightful questions to get to the heart of the issue. You'll be confident managing challenging conversations without taking criticism personally and able to explain processes, decisions and solutions in a clear way that customers can easily understand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
