About the opportunity
Via is supporting our client, an established recycling and waste management company, to recruit a Customer Service Advisor to join their team on the Wirral.
You'll support business customers across the UK with their recycling and waste collection services, helping to arrange collections, manage bookings, process new orders and resolve day-to-day service enquiries.
This is a busy and varied customer service role where you'll communicate with customers, recycling and waste service providers, and internal teams to make sure collections and other services run smoothly.
You don't need previous recycling or waste management experience. Full industry training will be provided, making this a good opportunity for someone from customer service, administration, logistics, scheduling or a similar environment.
What you'll be doing
- Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email
- Help customers arrange and manage recycling and waste collections
- Process service bookings, new orders and account enquiries
- Coordinate collections for general waste, recycling, hazardous waste, confidential waste and larger clearances
- Liaise with recycling and waste management suppliers across the UK
- Manage customer requests through a shared inbox, CRM and online portals
- Take ownership of service issues and see them through to resolution
- Handle complaints calmly and professionally
- Keep customers updated on collections, bookings and outstanding queries
- Request and record supplier quotations when required
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, quotes and customer communications
- Investigate customer and supplier invoice queries
- Prepare Waste Transfer Notes and other service documentation when required
- Keep customer and service information accurate across internal systems
- Work with customers, suppliers and colleagues to resolve problems quickly

What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys helping customers.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in customer service, customer support, administration, client services or another office-based role
- Confidence speaking with customers over the phone
- Good written communication skills
- A friendly and professional approach
- The ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities
- Good attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
- Confidence handling complaints and resolving customer problems
- A practical, solution-focused approach
- Experience using Outlook
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team

Previous recycling or waste management experience isn't required. Full in-house training will be provided. Experience from logistics, transport, facilities management, utilities, environmental services or other service-led industries could be useful, but candidates from broader customer service and administration backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
