Customer Care Advisor

Bridgwater

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, between 8:00am and 5:00pm

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Office-based during probation, then hybrid – 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

About The Role

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Customer Care Advisor to join a busy and professional team. You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service while managing enquiries, processing orders and ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the order journey.

The successful candidate will be confident, organised and professional, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries professionally and promptly via telephone, email, social media and other channels.
  • Manage the full order process, from placing orders through to delivery.
  • Check and communicate stock availability and expected delivery dates.
  • Monitor order progress and proactively provide customers with updates.
  • Liaise with couriers regarding delivery status and resolve any delivery issues.
  • Investigate customer queries and take ownership through to resolution.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all customer information is up to date.
  • Keep customers informed regarding outstanding orders and projects.
  • Work closely with Sales and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and minimise delays.
  • Provide administrative and customer service support to the external Sales team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the customer experience.
  • Work within agreed departmental SLAs and service standards.
  • Follow company procedures, policies, Terms & Conditions, returns processes and warranty requirements.

About You

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A friendly, polite and professional approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Confidence communicating with customers via phone, email and online channels.
  • Competence using Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
  • A proactive approach to identifying improvements and resolving issues.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • A strong team-player mentality.
  • A positive, flexible and adaptable approach.
  • A self-motivated attitude with a willingness to take ownership.
  • A strong can-do attitude and sense of urgency.
