Summary
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing local firm. Starting as a Customer Service Advisor, you will learn the business and develop your skills, becoming an integral member of a supportive and exceptional team. Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
To start your career with NBe Brokers, you will be working as part of our Customer Service team. Day-to-day you will have the following focuses as you work to develop your skills:
- Taking incoming calls from current customers
- Assisting customers with insurance renewals or adjustments
- Ensuring accurate maintenance of customer records
- Reaching out to customers to follow up on any outstanding tasks
- Providing appropriate, clear, and honest advice
- Working efficiently across departments to provide the most appropriate assistance for the customer
- Working towards and completing your apprenticeship work in order to achieve your qualification

Customer service practitioner (level 2)
What you'll learn
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations, and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity, and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers' needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Training schedule
Customer Service Practitioner Level 2. All training will take place in the workplace with visits conducted by a subject specialist Skills Coach to support.
More training information
Although training will predominantly take place in the workplace, apprentices will be able to utilise student facilities at either of Stoke-on-Trent College's campuses (Burslem and Cauldon).

Desirable qualifications
- GCSE in: English (grade Grade C/4 or above)
- Maths (grade Grade C/4 or above)
