Salary: GBP26,427 - GBP29,071 Per Year
Package: Total benefit value (includes pension contribution and full holiday entitlement): GBP39,164
Contractual Hours: 37
Basis: Full Time
About the Role
We are looking for an individual who has the skills, ability, attitude, and motivation to deliver a high-class, quality service within our busy Corporate Premises.
Working with colleagues, members of the public, contractors, external companies, health and safety, and public sector bodies to ensure we provide a welcoming, professional, and safe environment for all people that enter our buildings.
This is a full-time position, on both permanent and fixed-term basis, working 37 hours per week. You’ll be expected to work on rotating shifts between 07:00-18:30 with the flexibility to work until 9pm every third week. Depending on the needs of the service, you may need to work occasional weekends. You’ll be based between City Hall and Town Hall.

Key Responsibilities
As a customer service and access officer, you’ll:
- Maintain the security and safety of City Hall and occupants and support evacuation procedures when required.
- Provide exemplary, face-to-face, telephone, and email customer service in a high-profile environment.
- Efficiently and effectively operate meeting room AV equipment, a range of IT systems, and relevant computer system databases including content management systems, ensuring that all information entered and retrieved is up to date.
- Manage room bookings using information in the booking system and other requests, assisting with rooms and facilities being set up appropriately.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills to undertake accurate processing of documentation and maintenance of records.
- Confidence to communicate effectively with people at all levels using interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to think on your feet and respond to emergency situations.
- Enthusiasm and motivation to create a positive working environment.
