Customer Service & Freight Operations Coordinator

Location: Belfast | Onsite | Full-time

Customer Service FIRST

Roadliner International is a freight company and part of one of Europe’s largest logistics groups. We are looking for someone to join our team at our brand-new premises in Belfast.

We are taking a slightly different approach to this appointment. Previous experience in freight or logistics is certainly welcome, but it is not essential. Our priority is to find someone with a strong background in customer service who would like to learn the operational side of international freight.

We believe good customer service and good freight operations naturally belong together. Our customers do not simply need someone to answer their questions. They need someone who understands what is happening with their shipments, takes responsibility for them and can find practical solutions when plans change.

We will teach you the freight.

The Role

You will work as part of our Belfast operations team, looking after customers while helping to make their shipments happen.

As your knowledge develops, you will become involved in the complete movement of freight from collection through to final delivery. This will include:

  • Communicating with customers
  • Organising collections and deliveries
  • Working with hauliers and our partners across Europe
  • Monitoring shipments in transit
  • Responding to the everyday issues that are part of moving goods internationally

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

It is a practical role. Freight is constantly moving and circumstances sometimes change, so being able to communicate clearly, think sensibly and take ownership of a problem is just as important as knowing the technical side of transport.

You will not be expected to know our routes, systems or procedures when you arrive. Those can be learned.

What We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in people who already have genuine customer service experience and would like to apply those skills in a more operational environment.

You should be someone who:

  • Communicates naturally and professionally with customers
  • Listens properly and understands what a customer needs
  • Enjoys solving problems rather than simply passing them on
  • Remains organized when several things are happening at once
  • Is comfortable taking responsibility and following something through
  • Works well with colleagues and external partners
  • Is curious and willing to learn a new industry
  • Has good general computer and administrative skills

Previous freight, transport or logistics experience would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

What You Will Learn

We will train you in the practical and technical aspects of the job, including our systems, routes, services and operational procedures.

Over time, you will develop an understanding of:

  • How international road and multimodal freight works
  • How shipments are planned and coordinated
  • How our European partner network operates
  • How problems are resolved while goods are in transit

The objective is not to turn you into someone who simply processes bookings. It is to give you the knowledge to combine good customer service with sound operational judgement.

What We Offer

You will be joining an established freight business at an interesting point in its development, working from our brand-new Belfast premises and backed by the resources and network of one of Europe’s largest logistics groups.

We offer:

  • A competitive package based on experience
  • Full training in freight operations
  • The opportunity to develop specialist knowledge of international transport
  • Increasing operational responsibility as your experience grows
  • A modern, professional working environment
  • The opportunity to build a long-term career in freight and logistics

This is a full-time, onsite position in Belfast.

If you already know how to look after customers and would like to add the practical, problem-solving side of international freight to those skills, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
