The Role:

  • Working solo from our London shop.
  • Contracted 1 day per weekend (alternating Saturdays and Sundays from week to week) with an opportunity and occasional requirement for extra shifts.
  • Helping customers, processing sales, managing shop displays, and offering framing services across our print collection.

About You:

  • Passionate about prints, wall art, and supporting independent design.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or environment.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Retail and Customer Service Assistant to work solo from our London shop based in the heart of Brick Lane and within reach of the buzzing Columbia Road flower Market. With a passion for prints and wall art, you will be processing sales, attending to our shop displays and offering a framing service across all of our print collection. As the face of East End Prints, you will represent the company's core values and embrace our creative community of artists and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attentive in-store customer service
  • Redress our gallery walls, window and shop displays throughout the day
  • Knowledge of our online products and stock availability
  • Wide product knowledge and awareness of bestselling prints and current trends
  • Meet sales targets by upselling frames and offering framed options with all purchases
  • Ability to take phone messages acting as a point of call for all communication across the weekend
  • Contribute photographic content to use across our social media platforms
  • Able to follow instructions and complete any tasks as set by the shop manager
  • Raise any issues with Shop manager by supplying a daily handover following your shift
  • Oversee general upkeep of the shop, maintaining a tidy and presentable workspace for the whole team

Person Specification

  • A love for prints and wall art with a creative eye for detail
  • Knowledgeable of the local area with a strong sense of community spirit
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure when the shop is at full capacity
  • Must be comfortable with lone working
  • Ability to take ownership with sole responsibility for the shop as key holder
  • A willingness to problem solve independently and deal with conflict
  • Strong data entry and maths skills, accurately logging sales to ensure daily takings are accounted for
  • Familiar with Google Drive, G-suite & Apple Mac Software
  • A background in retail, customer service, sales or marketing desirable
  • Flexible availability across the weekend

Physical Requirements

  • Physically fit with an ability to lift and handle frames and deliveries
  • Safely wrap and package orders for collection using sharp tools and stationary
  • Access storage that may be of height

Other Information

  • A company laptop will be provided for work to be carried out on
  • You will be joining our team under PAYE part-time employment
  • Must be available for shadowing and training shifts throughout September ready to commence solo shifts on 12th September 2026
  • Opportunity for internal growth and progression such as apprenticeship schemes

Working Hours and Salary

  • £14.80 per hour - London Living Wage.
  • Weekend shifts - 8 hours per week (10:00 - 18:00 shift)
  • Potential for weekday and weekend overtime to cover sickness and annual leave
