Summary

Handsfree Group, a small, friendly team, are looking for a motivated, Customer Service Apprentice with a particular interest in technology to join their team. This opportunity offers career advancement.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

A normal day would include:

  • Dealing with inbound faults and enquiry calls from existing Datalive and Handsfree Group customers
  • Responding to basic and routine inquiries of a technical nature for various market-leading business-led communications products, including hardware/software, or other designated client products
  • Assisting external users of technical products or services by answering questions and solving problems involved in their use
  • Using systems and diagnostic tools provided, walking customers through queries and helping to solve issues by utilizing strong technical and diagnostic skills
  • Proactive monitoring of customer products for maintaining positive health and status to avoid potential problems
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Testing of application

Technology aspect - Not Critical:
Apprenticeship Responsibilities:
Not critical but an understanding of or willingness to learn Python, Angular, Django, Node would be beneficial
Not Critical but an understanding of Google Cloud Platform would be beneficial

Full training and support will be provided by The Growth Company to help you achieve your apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role.

What you'll learn

Course contents:

  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations, and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications.
  • Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritize your own workload/activity, and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers’ needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE in: English (grade A*-C/9-4)
  • GCSE in: Maths (grade A*-C/9-4)
